Description

Well, I was working on developing some coloring and shading techniques for my works, and experimenting with various coloring ways to develop my skills :D So thus, I used a zoom of these pencils for Sara that I made a few days back. Among the things I was testing out:

-Adding a background! (Haven't done that much in years
-Outline coloring
-rendering a picture that doesn't rely on an outline
-Making a character blend into, and become part of a setting.

I numbered the pics for easy reference:) What do you like most, and, what tips can ya give on the various techniques I atempted? All comments and help would be appreciated!

I like 4 the best with 2 coming in second. I think that 3 is a bit blurry and not as well defined as it could be. It's hard to digitaly paint without an outline...but practice makes perfect I suppose. The easiest way to make a character blend into the background is by adding reflected light. Just add colors of the backgound onto the person and they will fit more. Or you can just use colors from the BG on the person, for example if you have a forest background, your person could be a green/brown elf or something. They would automatically fit in somewhat. Another thing you could do is just build on a basic color. I can't explain it, but I do it from time to time and it's really fun! Here's a tutorial for what I mean

There are soooo many coloring methods. It's really great that you are experimenting.

Sorry for typos. :/
